Growing Graduates
CITC Education

CITC provides educational services to our Alaska Native and American Indian community:

• Core and advanced academic classes
• All classes meet or exceed state
      and district standards
• Life skills and social support
• All classes culturally enriched
• Smaller class sizes

How are CITC classes different?

Cook Inlet Tribal Council provides educational services to our Alaska Native and American Indian community through culturally responsive core academic classes and social support services within the  Anchorage School District schools.

We know students learn best when they receive individualized attention. Our CITC classes are capped at 20 students, and all of our classes actively integrate Native culture in our curricula. We provide students with a cultural sense of belonging within our core content classes that builds their self-confidence and contributes to their academic achievement.

At the core of CITC’s Vision for Change is our belief that all our students will graduate from high school. By focusing our resources into two pipelines, our elementary school programs will feed into our middle school and high school programs, allowing us to offer continuous support from Kindergarten to Graduation.

CITC extends learning beyond the classroom. We offer after-school and extracurricular activities, including a city-wide Alaska Native dance group, a summer camp and Native Youth Olympics Games.
