Youth Opportunities

Youth Opportunities (YO) is a set of programs for eligible Alaska Native/American Indian and Alaskan youth ages 14-24 that can assist youth secure employment, further education needs, and youth leadership opportunities.

Youth Opportunities (YO) houses five programs that have proved to be an important support for youth as they take steps to:

  1. Advance workforce skills
  2. Obtain educational funding
  3. Be part of a group of young leaders striving to make our world a better place

Other services include:

  • Adult mentoring
  • Opportunities to obtain High School Credit
  • Assistance with Post Secondary Education
  • GED completion
  • Employability and Life Skills Training
  • Work readiness training/career assessment
  • Resume writing and practicing interview skills
  • Work experience (paid/unpaid)
  • Referrals to other programs serving youth
